Battersea and Nine Elms

£1 Billion Funding for the Northerline Extension

Northern Line extension at Battersea and Nine Elms latest

George Osborne confirmed it has agreed to loan £1 billion to fund the extension of the Northern Line to Battersea Power Station

The London Mayor hopes to create up to 25,000 jobs and build around 16,000 new homes in Nine Elms as part of the scheme.

The Chancellor gave the scheme its full backing during his Autumn Statement,

“It is hugely significant as Nine Elms is one of the areas with the greatest prospect for new development in the whole of the capital.

"It will be a considerable boost for local people who will benefit from the new Tube link.”
